About Us

Neutral Baby was set up in 2011 the idea came about when friends of mine were pregnant and had chosen not to find out the gender of their baby. Everywhere I went I saw pink flowered clothes or blue with trucks and dinosaurs or just boring white! There were very few nice unisex/neutral options.  

Therefore due to the lack of 'neutral coloured' clothing and gifts available 'Neutral Baby' was born! Even if you know the babies gender prior to birth, everything is unisex so still applies!

Gender sterotyping starts the minute the gender is known, studies have shown babies dressed in blue are interacted with more than babies dressed in pink, why should the gender matter? This shows the power colour has on us (the baby in the study was actually a girl).

People prefer neutral colours for all sorts of reasons, they are calming and restful any are used a lot in feng sui.

In addition to neutral colours I have also added unisex colours, such as red, yellow, green, and brown.

A healthy happy baby is a gift in itself regardless of gender.
